THE STORY BEHIND GOGO MUMMA
Helping to organize the chaos of air travel with your little one
Our story began back in 2001, when we set off on an adventure to Australia to
earn our teaching degrees from a very snowy Canada. Upon our arrival we fell
in love with both the Gold Coast and our future husbands and so life after
graduation began.
By 2008, we were both happily married and adjusting to the challenges and joys
of motherhood. Having our little girls only brought us closer and with our
families so far away, we became each other’s family. Soon we found ourselves
swapping stories of cat napping babies, sleep deprivation, cracked nipples and
of course, our unconditional love for our girls.
During the first few months of our baby’s lives, we both bravely decided to
venture back to Canada, where the “Baby Tour of 2009” began. Taking separate
trips, we soon realized the meticulous planning involved in such a journey.
Not to mention the “colourful discussions” that arose with our husbands about
trying to fit the contents of our baby’s room into the permissible 2 suitcase
limit!
The next challenge was to figure out a game plan on how to manage the long
flight with a baby. Panic-stricken thoughts of, “my baby won’t sleep in such
a noisy and brightly lit airplane, I can’t manage to squish all of her bottles
and feeding bowls into that tiny pocket behind our seat, there is no way I will
be able to feed my baby or express in comfort without the entire cabin crew
taking full notice the newly acquired stretch marks on my chest!”
Many parents are all too aware of the challenges of preparing and packing for
a family holiday or visit back home to the Grandparents. Whether traveling with
your significant other or as a single parent, we have done it and understand
(and sympathize) with all the travel dilemmas that arise. It didn’t take us
long to realize that we had a calling, that calling was to help all parents out
there travel more simply and comfortable with their bubby’s.
Our product range is inspired by our daughters and our travel adventures with
them. We hope we can help you make each and every travel experience more
comfortable and controllable, while maintaining your individual “mummy chic!”
